Industrial Engineering is a problem solving discipline building systems and models and developing methods for the analysis, organization, performance, implementation, and development of systems in manufacturing and service industries which are made of elements such as human, machine, material, and energy. Main purpose of industrial engineering is to increase the performance of the organizations.
ITU-IE department mission is defined as:
ITU-IE department -
educates engineers who will contribute to national development by adapting the global developments in science and technology to our national economy; -
develops and implements integrated systems that include people, materials, information, equipment and energy in this direction;
supplies scientific support necessary to improve the performance of these systems; -
conducts theoretical and practical studies related to these objectives. Vision:
