Double Major

All of the students in engineering departments of Istanbul Technical University have opportunities to get double major program. The courses and the internships of students who take double major program could change by the closeness of their own departments to Industrial Engineering Department. 

  - In the case of a student of mechanical engineering making double major program with Industrial engineering; he/she has to take
    63.5 credits of courses. At the first major program the students whose complete successively the elective course 'MAT 271E
    Probability and Statistics' are exempted from the course 'END 252E Theory of Probability' which they have to take at their
    second major program. 

  - In the case of a student of management engineering making double major program with Industrial engineering; he/she has to
    take 36.5 credits of courses. In the terms of elective courses, in order to the course ISL 320E-Game Theory and the course END
    417E-Game Theory are equivalent; if a student take ISL 320E-Game Theory at his/her first major program and upon he/she take
    the course END 417E-Game Theory; he/she would repeat the course ISL 320E-Game Theory. 

  - In the case of a student of other engineering departments making double major program with Industrial engineering; he/she has
    to take 69.5 credits of courses. At the first major program the students whose complete successively the elective course 'MAT
    271E Probability and Statistics' are exempted from the course 'END 252E Theory of Probability' which they have to take at their
    second major program.

  Students from other departments of ITU, upon the satisfaction of certain success criteria, can apply for a double major program with Management Engineering. Every year, almost 80 students apply to this programme and 10 of them are registered according to the quotas allocated to each faculty. According to the last four years statistics, the CGPA of applying students is 3.43 and the CGPA of the admitted students is 3.70.
